Trials and Events 2023

On September 2nd – 3rd, the Thunder Bay Schutzhund Club held two club trials, one CWBSA and one GSSCC event. We were blessed with visitors from Southern Ontario and Spanish, Ontario who made the trip to visit and trial with us. Wendy Talbot & Hudtzn (Rott) did our first IGP-V as a club, and what made this so special is that Hudtzn is 8.5 years young, and she went out with lots of heart. It was a sweltering 34 and 36 degrees Celsius during our trial, making for an even more challenging atmosphere for both handlers and dogs. This year, the TBSC received an anonymous donation for our trophies, which were beautiful custom made plaques from Fur Missile Deigns! It’s always eye-opening when people must flip the map to get to us, as we are in the middle of nowhere, when it comes to where the “hubs” are. But once anyone comes here…. they always vow to return!

A huge thank you to our judge, Andrea Duggan-Jantzen, who travelled to our trial. We always enjoy her fair judging, along with recommendations for improvements.

 

Another huge thank you to our amazing Helpers, Weston Knapp and Hasan Ercan, who travelled all of the way to our club so that our helper could also trial.
