I
have always had a love affair with dogs but became involved with German Shepherds when I acquired my first GSD male in 1988.
From that point I became involved with conformation, obedience, herding, agility, and the sport of Schutzhund.
Vonmatris Kennels was established in 1992. 'Defending the Standard' is the motto and driving force behind my breeding program. In 1994, I was instrumental in introducing Schutzhund to the Thunder Bay area. Presently, I am working towards an SchH 1 title with my female, Kassie. Over the years I have been an active member of the Thunder Bay Schutzhund Club in the role of trial secretary.
